Aidan Solsten, a history graduate student, is currently working with Scottsdale Historic Preservation program to redesign content on its website. The project began as an internship with the Scottsdale Historic Preservation Commission. His interest in working in the public history field fueled his interest in working with the historic preservation program.

Climates of Inequality exhibit flows through U.S. highlighting history grad students’ work

The Climates of Inequality project is an international traveling exhibit that launched in New Jersey in October 2019; it will travel to Phoenix in 2022. The exhibition is a collaboration between students and faculty at more than 20 universities worldwide, with each contributing panels to the project.

History graduate student Marc Vance completed his MA thesis focusing on Holocaust survivors, and specifically the Loewy family. With the help of Dr. Lawrence Bell and Marty Richelsoph from the Arizona Jewish Historical Society, Marc Vance found hundreds of documents and images on this remarkable family.

Film project explores Maya culture in Belize

The goal of the film is to spread awareness about the Maya land rights movement among people who may mistakenly believe the Mayas no longer exist, with an emphasis on a target audience of age groups ranging from late teens to mid-thirties.
